Have you ever felt that you were something different, something more, than your human skin implies?

Welcome, then, to OtherSoul, where therians, otherkin, anthros, and furres can gather together with a spirit of community and acceptance. Welcome, too, to those of you who are curious, or just have a love of the art depicting our kind. Whatever your perspective, whatever your reasoning behind the feeling or knowledge that you are something more than human, be it your personality, some inner sense, an idea that you were, perhaps, some creature in a previous life, or have one as a spirit guide or totem animal now, or even if you just have a strong affinity for creatures other than the one you appear to be... you are welcome here.

N E W S

January 9, 2008
The club is still around, Admin hasn't forgotten. But her computer is broken so she can't upload any submissions at this time. Timeframe for getting a new computer is set optimistically in the next two months, but free time is scarce at the moment do to being Consumed By Life and prepping for her May wedding.

You are welcome to submit join requests, just remember to watch as well, and you will be added when she has a spare moment.

Club is semi-open due to Admin's computer being broken. Submissions will be posted when possible later this month.

April 6, 2007 (Feature, Contest, Subscription)
The news article will hopefully be coming out by around the end of this month. It's a good bit of work, looking through dA to find anthro and animal artists to feature in the various media. Add to that that I'm hoping to feature mostly "undiscovered" artists and it's quite a task. So if you have any suggestions, send 'em my way via note ^x^

There aren't any official entries for the contest just yet, but there's been some interest. The unofficial deadline will be June, though that will depend on how many entries are sent in. Check out the Contest Journal for details and updates ^x^

One last bit of news, we're hoping to get a subscription for this account so that we can neaten up the information journals & make voting on contest entries easier. It'll also give us a forum to discuss ideas in ^x^ The extra out-of-pocket expense for the admin is looking a little tricky at the moment, but if she can figure out the coding for her own account (where she won a subscription), then we'll see if she can adjust it for here ^x^

You don't have to be a therian, otherkin, or furre to join. We also welcome animal & furre artists & those who like the art but don't make it themselves. ^x^

Note: If you have a deviation in our Faves and then join the club, we will have to remove the deviation from Faves (dA rules state that a club cannot abuse the Favorites system by having member deviations in club Faves). We will ask if you would like the fave'd deviation to be displayed in the gallery instead, or to send us the link to any artwork you would prefer be shown.

S U B M I T T I N G ~ A R T

All media types are welcome: traditional, digital, photomanipulation, poetry, prose...

You may make a maximum of 3 submissions per month, so that the gallery shows a variety of work from all our members. (Note that this limit may change in the future depending on club growth and submission rates.)

Click to Submit a Deviation, and include link to your deviation, and the description you would like to appear on the Artist's Comment here in the club.
Your deviation in the OtherSoul gallery will have a link to your gallery & the original deviation in the description, as well as your copyright information, with direction to visit your original deviation for faves & comments.

~OtherSoul reserves the right to decline posting art here if it violates decency standards or dA regulations. Submitted art should have animal or anthropomorphic (animal with human characteristic) content. A pretty anime girl or guy with cat ears and tail but no fur elsewhere does not count as anthropomorphic, but if the character has a muzzle that's fine and will count. Please see the FAQ for more details.

Contest #1: Webcam Frenzy!

The contest is open to members only, please go ahead and join if you'd like to try. It's a furre/anthro group image, using either traditional or digital drawing, photomanipulation, or sculpture, and the winner will get prizes and land their image in our Webcam ^x^

There is no deadline date set just yet, waiting to see what the response is.

Prizes will be added to and listed in the Contest Journal ([link])

R U L E S

Respect the art & fellow members.
No flaming or hatred allowed.
No depictions of cruelty or violence towards animals or humans.
No overly mature content (no yiffing or detailed nudity).
Lack of clothing is fine, just no private anatomical details, you know what I mean.
Couples of any gender or species mix ok, but kissing & light cuddling is the limit.
Bring issues or disputes to the admin via Note.

S C H E D U L E ~ N ~ S T U F F

The Admin is on dA nearly daily, and will be maintaining this account several times a week, or as time allows. Please allow time for the Admin to respond to your messages. She's very dedicated and will get to everything, it just might take a minute ^x^

The Journals will be updated as needed, but you don't have to worry about them spamming your New Messages when multiple updates are made; they will be set as "minor" for updates unless something truly important is added. The addition of a few new members will result in an update, but that won't show in your Messages. Contest journals are the exception, so that you can see the new entries as soon as they're up, but they will be loaded in batches where possible ^x^
